About Round One

Round One Fitness is the first gym of its kind in the Cockburn area offering structured Boxing for Fitness classes. It is a facility like no other, offering a complete workout that stimulates the mind and challenges the body. Boasting over 60 structured Boxing classes per week and catering for every age group and fitness level, Round One Fitness is the solution for people trying to lose weight, get fit or even training to be a professional athlete.

Round One Fitness offers a variety of boxing focussed group training sessions (up to 11 per day!), Personal training, Boxing, Woman's Only classes, Weight loss and Lifestyle coaching, state of the art electronic cardio training equipment, weight training and circuit areas. Round One Fitness classes are designed to take a beginner through the stages that will lead them to mastering new skills as well as improving their fitness levels.

Our Gym

Round One Fitness has been established in brand new commercial premises on Hammond Road in Cockburn Central. Our facilities include:

  • Nearly 700m2 of total floor space.
  • 28 Punching bags, 12 floor-to-ceiling balls, 12 Speed balls and 8 uppercut shields.
  • 2 Life Fitness treadmills
  • 8 stationery bikes
  • 4 cross trainers
  • 1 rower
  • 90m2 weights floor - bench press, smith machine, pec-deck, leg extension, dual-cable etc etc.
  • Full change rooms, showers etc.


Our Classes

With more than 60 classes per week, boxing-based group training classes are the main focus of Round One Fitness:
  • "Boxing for Fitness". With cardio boxing, bag work, floor-to-ceiling bags, speed balls and core strengthening segment, "Boxing for Fitness" is the perfect class for increasing muscular and cardio endurance.
  • "Intense". Want to ramp things up? Try intense! With all the elements of "Boxing for Fitness" but no rest between rounds, "Intense" will challenge even the fittest.
  • "Body Work". Mix in some weights and cardio stations with a bit of boxing and you have "Body Work". Alternating rounds will give your system a real jolt and improve both cardio fitness levels and all-round strength.
  • "Girls Only". Take "Boxing for Fitness", add some specific exercises to help shape and tone and send the blokes somewhere else for a while. "Girls Only" provides a workout for ladies looking for some specific shaping exercises for their legs and mid-section.


Is boxing good for me?

The boxing workout is a total body workout. After starting at Round One, the first thing you will notice is improved definition in your arms and shoulders. All the cardio work (boxing and skipping are hard work) will help your general health - as well as improve your fitness levels - and the resistance training will strengthen your body. You will feel better, sleep better and look better.

On top of better fitness and health (and a better physique) boxing helps release tension and anxiety - you can imagine punching your boss right on the nose 1000 times every session! Boxing isn't about -No Pain, No Gain - it is just plain FUN.

What do I need to bring?

Every Round One Fitness class involves boxing - we recommend you bring your own gloves and wrap your hands for every session. If you don't have your own gloves, we have some you can borrow for the day - of course, anyone who takes out a 12-month membership will receive a Round One Pack that includes bag mitts, hand wraps and a skipping rope. We also stock a full range of SupaTuff gloves and accessories for anyone who wants to take their training to a professional level.
